Summer Intern - Rotational (Ops, IT, Risk, & Fund Treasury)
This unique internship offers a rotational experience across four critical departments at Hartford Funds: Operations, Risk, IT, and Fund Treasury. Interns will gain exposure to transfer agent and fund oversight, risk frameworks, and technology infrastructure while contributing to meaningful projects that support business operations and investor outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and/or contribute to functional and cross-functional initiatives involving Operations, Risk, IT, and Fund Treasury to support goals such as improving operational execution, strengthening risk frameworks, and driving technology-enabled process enhancements.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements, including workflow automation and process updates.
- Support data-driven initiatives through analysis related to risk assessments, transfer agent activities, fund accounting, and IT operations.
- Participate in team meetings, project planning sessions, and status updates to gain exposure to strategic and operational priorities.
- Shadow team members to learn key processes, systems, and tools across departments.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and professional manner, as part of team efforts.
- Engage in intern learning sessions and other development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program, ideally with a focus in Finance, Business, Information Systems, or related fields.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Interest in learning how different departments collaborate to support operations and investor outcomes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with data tools (Excel, Power BI) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to different team environments.
