Career Experience Program CH3 BioSystems
The student will gain independent research experience in a laboratory setting working on a goal-oriented project that is relevant to basic biomedical science, as well as, to the practical commercial considerations of biotechnology research. In addition, there may be opportunities for well-suited students to contribute written reports to marketing campaigns and the CH3 BioSystems weblog.
Some familiarity with working in a life science laboratory is necessary. Basic skills such as, liquid pipetting using automatic pipetors, working with a lab balance and micro-centrifuge, as well as basic training in lab safety are all important.
After an initial training period, the lab intern will:
• Assist with routine lab assays
• Maintain an accurate cloud-based electronic lab notebook describing daily experimental protocols, results and progress
• Preparation of buffers, enzymes, antibodies and other lab reagents
• General laboratory maintenance
