Technical Writer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for our products, services, and internal processes. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to translate complex technical information into accessible content for various audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including user manuals, API documentation, installation guides, and online help systems.
  • Work closely with engineering and product teams to gather information and understand product functionality.
  • Edit, standardize, and revise material prepared by other writers or team members.
  • Organize and manage documentation libraries and version control.
  • Ensure documentation meets quality standards and is consistent with brand voice and style guidelines.
  • Create diagrams, flowcharts, and other visual aids to enhance understanding.
  • Conduct usability testing and incorporate feedback to improve documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and tools in technical communication.
  • Perform any duties as assigned
  • Must be comfortable working in a lab enivronment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a software or technology environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Confluence, or Markdown.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development environments.
  • Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with API documentation and tools like Swagger or Postman.
  • Basic understanding of programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
  • Knowledge of UX writing principles.
  • Experience with localization and translation workflows.
