Job Summary:
To manage the Engineering Department in accordance with the viewpoints, objectives, plans, and policies of the Cooperative; to provide leadership for qualified personnel and effective administration of a well-planned and smoothly operating Engineering Department; to create and develop among the personnel of the Engineering Department an understanding of member ownership principles, understanding and support of the Cooperative’s objectives, and interest in and enthusiasm for highest quality member service; to provide engineering services, long-range planning, and short-term execution that will assure exceptional reliability in the electric service to the Cooperative’s members ; to promote good public and member relations by rendering prompt and efficient engineering service and by participation and cooperation in community organizations, activities, and programs that will further the objectives of the Cooperative; and to participate in Sr. Leadership Team discussions that support the purpose, mission and vision of the cooperative.
Job Requirements:
- Encompass the three virtues of the Ideal Team Player (Humble, Hungry & People Smart).
- Four-year degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college required. Advanced degree in engineering, business or related fields preferred.
- Must be a licensed professional engineer in good standing with the Tennessee Board of Architectural and Engineering Examiners.
- Ten (10) years’ experience in progressively responsible positions in an electric utility required.
- Proven experience maintaining and improving the reliability metrics of a distribution electric utility.
- Must be a self-learner and starter, willing to dig, with the ability to work independently or with teams. Ability to efficiently communicate data analytics methods and complex problems to non-technical teams and stakeholders.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to think creatively and be highly driven and self-motivated.
