R&D Technologist
Job Summary:
The mission is to successfully take a product from concept to commercialization. Collaborating with other departments to create high-quality products, meet customer expectations and contributes to the overall business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing new products based on customer's request
- Works closely with sales team to support sales activities as required: participating in product presentation and concept development, product information support, price set-up, client visit, etc.
- Tests new products, develops specific processing methods as necessary and attends the first production of new products
- Conducts sensory tests (*including meat and seafood products)
- Obtains and provides COA and COO per customer's request
- Conducts a variety of market researches to develop new products and studies methods to improve quality of foods such as flavor, color, texture, nutritional value, convenience and/or physical/chemical/microbiological composition of foods
- Responsible for issuing Batch Sheet, Specification Sheet, Production Profile, Nutrition Fact for new products
- Fills out Ingredient Registration Form and forwards to Purchasing Department for entering into database
- Collaborates with Production and Purchasing Departments to enhance smooth and efficient production
- Ensures the nutritional accuracy of products and all documents are compiled and stored in the appropriate folders
- Constantly searches, obtains and tests substitute ingredients in case of discontinuation on the original ingredients
- Other duties will be assigned
Qualifications:
- Food Science, Chemistry or related degree with lab experience, AND/OR equivalent work experience
- Must be able to consume meat products including beef, chicken, pork and seafood
- Must be able to lift, pull and push up to 50 lbs
- Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility in work hours strongly preferred
*This position requires a 3-month training at our Hayward, CA facility.
