About the Internship
DancePhreakz is a creative dance and entertainment company producing shows, podcasts, and digital content. We are looking for a motivated Video Editing Intern in the Los Angeles Area (or general southern Los Angeles area) to help transform raw footage into polished, engaging videos for social media, marketing campaigns, and event recaps.
This internship is ideal for a current college student or recent graduate eager to gain professional experience in editing short- and long-form video content while building a strong portfolio.
What You’ll Learn & Do
- Edit raw footage into captivating short- and long-form videos for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and podcasts.
- Create multi-angle edits for podcasts and live productions, including smooth transitions and audio mixing.
- Add captions, transitions, animations, and music to enhance storytelling.
- Perform basic color correction and sound editing.
- Adapt content for multiple platforms, ensuring correct aspect ratios, pacing, and audience engagement.
- Collaborate with our creative team to maintain brand style and meet project goals.
- Stay current on editing trends, platform algorithms, and emerging video formats.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college/university program in film, media, communications, or a related field—or equivalent experience/portfolio.
- Familiarity with editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or After Effects.
- Understanding of social media best practices and interest in algorithm-driven content.
- Strong sense of storytelling, pacing, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- A sample reel or links to video work (class projects, personal content, or freelance) strongly preferred.
Internship Details
- Schedule: 10–15 hours per week with flexible scheduling to accommodate classes or other commitments.
- Location: Hybrid—remote editing plus occasional on-site filming in Gardena, CA.
- Compensation: Paid internship
- Academic credit available if approved by your institution.
