Location: Busy Beaver Store Support Office, 3130 William Pitt Way, Pittsburgh, PA 15238
Reports to: VP of Business Intelligence & Strategy
Objective
The Busy Beaver IT Intern will learn through doing. Under the direction of the VP of Business Intelligence & Strategy, the IT Intern will gain real-world IT experience by supporting daily operations and completing meaningful projects. This position provides opportunities to develop professional skills, build a strong resume, and create portfolio pieces for future job searches.
Responsibilities / Potential Projects
The IT Intern will perform entry-level IT functions in a retail setting, including:
Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
Setting up new or refurbished devices for store use
Managing Point-of-Sale software and updating related records
Directing service calls and handling support tickets
Traveling to local stores to perform troubleshooting and repairs
Collaborating with the IT team to complete ongoing projects
Qualifications
Actively pursuing a two-year or four-year degree in a related field (Computer Science, Information Sciences, Information Systems Management, etc.)
Strong customer service and communication skills, including willingness to make support calls
Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a dynamic retail environment
Effective problem-solving skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Windows 10 OS
Previous help desk/technical support experience preferred (not required)
Hours & Location
Minimum of 16 hours per week, up to 24 hours per week (negotiable)
Paid internship, temporary (not a guarantee of full-time employment)
On-site at Busy Beaver’s Store Support Office, with the potential for remote work after training (BYOD required for remote work)
Some travel to local Busy Beaver store locations is required
