Accounting Intern

Title: Accounting Intern

Location: Lawrence, MA (Boston Area)

Reports To: Accounting Manager

The Accounting Intern will be primarily responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable processing and reporting on a daily/weekly/monthly basis at Little Sprouts and all subsidiaries.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Review incoming invoices for accuracy.
  • Code/Route invoices through our Stampli approval system.
  • Ensure invoices are paid in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Resolve AP invoicing and statement discrepancies received from organization vendors.
  • Assist individual assigned schools with processing monthly/weekly billings.
  • Prepare accounts receivable reconciliations and supporting documentation related to areas of responsibility
  • Resolve any AR billing discrepancies between the customers and schools.
  • Perform data entry and analysis in MS Excel.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Who You Are:

  • Working toward your bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 1–2 years of accounting experience is a plus (internships or part-time roles are welcome)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP required and IFRS a plus
  • Ability to roll up sleeves and be proactive to obtain needed information
  • Strong computer skills, including solid skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal communication skills are required for communicating issues and providing concise, thoughtful updates to senior management
  • Excellent people, team building, and leadership skills
  • Solid technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

 

How It Gets Done:

  • Available to work part-time (minimum 6 hours/week) and is flexible to support occasional off-hours needs.
  • Is able to sit for long periods of time at a computer in a primarily sedentary position; manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
