Care Center Assistant Director (equivalent to a Nursing Home Assistant Administrator)

The Wayne County Commissioners are currently accepting employment applications for the full-time position of Wayne County Care Center Assistant Director.

 

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Assists the Director in planning, developing, organizing, implementing and directing the day-to-day functions of the Care Center, its programs and activities.  Assists in development and implementation policies and procedures to stay in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manages certain operations, projects and personnel. Directly oversees the development, implementation and monitoring of the social services, dietary and activities programs and their annual budget.  Recruits, interviews, selects and recommends hiring, firing and discipline.      Assumes the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the activities and programs of the facility in the absence of the Director.      Coordinates the facility’s services and activities with department directors. 
  • Ensures that all employees, residents, visitors and the general public follow the facility’s established policies and procedures. Makes daily inspections of the facility to assure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed. 
  • Serves as cemetery manager, overseeing the cemetery records.
  • Assists with researching upcoming legislative changes and evaluate agency compliance with new legislation and/or regulations.
  • In the absence of the Director, represents the facility at and participates in meetings with federal, state and local officials, licensing agencies, etc.

 

PREFERRED: Bachelor’s Degree, plus two (2) years supervisory experience.  Must obtain an Ohio Administrator’s License within two (2) years of employment.
