Marketing and Communications Intern

Spirit of Giving seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist marketing and communications efforts. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of marketing while working for well-known community based nonprofit organization.

Responsibilities:

·        Update and maintain SOGN’s social media presence, including scheduling.

·        Assist in planning, writing and managing monthly eNewsletter

·       Assist Drafting, distributing and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories

·        Assist in Designing flyers, graphics, evites and other marketing material for major events hosted by SOGN

·        Attend monthly SOGN member meeting take notes and photos for PR opportunities

     Participate in SOGN Signature Programs- Back to School PBC(Summer), Holiday Gift Drive ( Oct.-Dec.), Boca Raton Bowl ( December), Community Spirit Race- ( March)

·        Reach out to the community organizations, general public and donors to promote awareness of

SOGN its mission, initiatives and events.

·        Collaborating with staff on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing and communications

Qualifications:

·        Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media arena

·        Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field

(e.g., Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations)

·        Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications is a plus

·        Must be computer literate (working knowledge of Outlook,  Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, and Canva desired. Knowledge of Wordpress websites and graphic design a plus

·        An effective communicator, both written and oral

  ·        Ability to communicate in a professional manner with press and community contacts

·        Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines

·        Enthusiasm for the mission of Spirit of Giving and the community we serve

Start DatePosition open until filled, prefer a 3 month – or greater commitment.

Hours: 15- 20 hours/week.

Compensation $17 per hour
