Government Affairs Intern

FOCUS Government Affairs, one of Connecticut’s leading bipartisan lobbying firms, is seeking interns for the Spring 2026 legislative session. This internship will provide students the opportunity to learn about the legislative process in Connecticut in a hands-on capacity at the State Capitol. This program offers students valuable insights into the world of legislative advocacy, legislation, and politics. FOCUS represents a wide range of clients, allowing for the unique opportunity to learn through multiple different industries. In this role, interns will play a key role in supporting the FOCUS Government Affairs team. Through this internship, interns will learn how to interpret, and analyze legislation, track bills through the entire legislative process, attend meetings with legislators and clients, help in drafting arguments in support or opposition of particular bills, conduct research, and explore many different areas of the Connecticut political world.
