The goals of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics program in MN are to 1) increase access to community-based mental health and substance use disorder services (particularly to under-served communities), 2) advance integration of behavioral health with physical health care, and 3) improve utilization of evidence-based practices on a more consistent basis.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Business Operations & Accounting Supervisor to oversee our daily business functions while managing essential accounting responsibilities. This hybrid role is ideal for a results-driven professional who can streamline operations, ensure financial accuracy, and contribute to strategic planning. The ideal candidate has a strong background in both operations management and accounting practices, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and support organizational growth.
 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Oversee and coordinate daily business operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.
  • Analyze and improve operational processes, identifying opportunities to optimize performance and reduce costs.
  • Collaborating with department leads aligning operational activities with company goals.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement processes.

Accounting & Financial Oversight:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Monitor budgets and forecasts, conducting variance analysis and providing actionable insights.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
  • Support external audits, tax preparation, and financial reviews.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting practices.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements, budgets, and variance reports.
  • Experience with reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements, audits, and internal controls.
  • Skilled in evaluating and improving operational processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and mentor staff in accounting and operational roles.
  • Effective decision-making skills with the ability to balance detail orientation and big-picture business needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Professional integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

  • Regular and reliable attendance is a requirement to this position

Education and Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in business operations, accounting, or a hybrid role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. 
  • Adequate level of vision to use computer terminal.
  • Sufficient hearing to accurately record information received verbally.
  • Must be 18 years of age. 
  • Must be able to maintain a Minnesota driver's license and auto insurance
