Job Description: Preschool Aide Teacher

Location: Concordia Learning Center (CLC)
Position Type: Full-Time
Reports to: Lead Preschool Teacher / Director

Position Overview

We are looking for a nurturing and energetic Preschool Aide Teacher to support our Lead Teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for children ages 2-5 years old. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood development, enjoys working collaboratively, and finds joy in helping children thrive. You will play a key role in the daily operations of the classroom, providing essential support that allows for a smooth and effective learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Support & Child Engagement:

· Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities.
· Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, and nap times to ensure their safety and well-being.
· Engage with children positively, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development through play, reading, and guided activities.
· Help prepare and organize learning materials, setting up the classroom for daily activities and special projects.
· Encourage children’s independence and self-help skills in a supportive manner.

Care & Safety:

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment that meets all health and safety standards.
· Assist with diapering, toilet training, and handwashing routines as needed.
· Ensure that all children are properly supervised and accounted for at all times.
· Follow all school policies and procedures for child safety and emergency situations.

Communication & Teamwork:

· Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff members to create a cohesive team environment.
· Communicate effectively and compassionately with parents and guardians about their child’s day, under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.
· Observe and note children's progress, behaviors, and milestones, reporting any concerns to the Lead Teacher.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

· A genuine love for children and a strong commitment to their development and well-being.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Patience, flexibility, and a positive, can-do attitude.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
· Must pass a background check.

Preferred:

· Previous experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting.
· CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
· Coursework or a degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
· Knowledge of child development principles and best practices.
