Horticulture Intern
We are seeking enthusiastic interns to join our team for the Spring - Summer seasons. As an intern, you will receive mentorship, networking opportunities, and skill development while assisting with various duties essential to different departments of our nursery and greenhouse products, such as:
- Inventory,
- Marketing,
- Plant Health,
- Production,
- Safety,
- Sales,
- Shipping,
- Shop and Maintenance
- HR
This is a seasonal position with a 40-hour work week. Housing is offered in Minnesota and Illinois.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
These will depend on the location and area of the production process to performance.
- Perform greenhouse maintenance.
- Plant orders, prepare them for shipment, and load them onto trucks.
- Propagate and care for new stock in growing fields, container growing areas, or greenhouses.
- Maintain trees and shrubs by pruning, shaping, staking, and weeding.
- Assist with updating plant records and labels.
- Help keep accurate counts for inventory.
- Other duties or projects as assigned depend on the location and area of the production process.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a horticulture degree program or a related field.
- Proactive and critical thinker.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Plant knowledge and identification skills.
- Experienced in horticulture research and new techniques.
- Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices.
