Summary:
Join the Arctic team as a Geospatial Data Apprentice. In the role, you will follow a well-instructed protocol to identify, delineate abrupt thaw landscapes on satellite images.
Responsibilities include but not limited:
- Identify, select, delineate and label abrupt thaw landscapes on PlanetScope imagery
- Follow the digitisation protocol to turn outdated geospatial labels to match current satellite imagery
- Manage, maintain a large geospatial data set
Must have the Following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Able to work on well-instructed, simple, repetitive tasks
- Exposure to GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS
- An understanding of permafrost landscapes is desirable
Qualifications:
- 3 months of relevant experience, including internships
- Majored in STEM fields, preferably Geosciences and Environmental Science
Work Environment:
The functions of this role are conducted indoors
Hours of Work:
- This role is paid on an hourly basis.
- Typically, full-time employees work 40 hours during a Monday through Friday workweek.

Fixed-term: 90 days
Classification and Compensation: This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position, the hourly salary range is $15-17/hour dependent on qualifications/experience.
