SUMMARY
The internship offers those with a passion for Cybersecurity the opportunity to grow their technical aptitude and professional skills. This will be accomplished while learning about the insurance industry and gaining invaluable experience working on challenging projects at a growing regional insurance organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor security alerts, logs, and dashboards for unusual activity.
Assist with vulnerability scanning, patching, and remediation processes.
Support incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and documentation.
Contribute to maintaining and improving security policies, standards, and procedures.
Conduct research on emerging threats, malware trends, and attack techniques.
Participate in risk assessments, access reviews, and compliance audits.
Work with IT teams to ensure security best practices are implemented in daily operations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline from an accredited four-year high school, college, or university
Basic understanding of networking, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and security concepts.
Familiarity with common security tools (e.g., firewalls, antivirus, SIEM)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of insurance industry
Exposure to incident response tools or penetration testing frameworks.
Basic knowledge of cloud security principles (AWS, Azure).
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001).
Hands-on experience from labs, academic projects, or personal security projects.
