Land Acquisitions Analyst

Our projects primarily involve preparing finished lots for home builders, along with select commercial development opportunities.

 

Position Summary

The Acquisitions Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the Acquisitions Manager by conducting market research, finding and pre-qualifying potential deals, and performing financial and risk analysis on those deals. This role is responsible for assisting in the transaction process and ensuring that acquisition opportunities align with the company’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for real estate development. This is an excellent opportunity to learn real estate development in a small company that is growing quickly.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal Pre-Qualification: Analyze potential acquisition opportunities by assessing zoning, land use, market conditions, and financial feasibility.
  • Market Research: Gather and analyze data on land values, development trends, and economic factors affecting potential acquisitions.
  • Financial Analysis: Develop and maintain pro forma models, perform cash flow analysis, and assess project feasibility.
  • Transaction Assistance: Support the Acquisitions Manager in negotiations, preparing offer letters, and tracking contract timelines.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Communicate with brokers, landowners, consultants, and internal teams to facilitate smooth transactions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline data collection, financial modeling, and deal evaluation workflows.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Some experience in financial modeling, market analysis, and due diligence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, GIS tools, and real estate data platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • 2+ years of experience in real estate acquisitions, financial analysis, or land development (preferred, NOT REQUIRED).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (preferred, NOT REQUIRED).
