Encapsys (www.encapsys.com), now a part of Milliken & Company (www.milliken.com) is looking to hire a student intern for the 2026 calendar year to join our team in Appleton, WI. Encapsys operates in the specialty chemicals industry. Holding over 75 encapsulation patents, Encapsys is a global leader in encapsulation technologies within two primary business segments – Fragrance and Agriculture. Encapsys operates highly scalable encapsulation processes that deliver superior products.

Encapsys provides projects with a high level of responsibility that have strong impacts on the bottom line. Students will work on both collaborative and independent projects in conjunction with the engineer/scientist project leaders. Each student is assigned a mentor to provide guidance through the processes of training, developing, and contributing.
This Business Data Analyst internship will support a collaborative demand planning project between Encapsys and Milliken, focusing on shared product lines within our largest customer. The intern will analyze historical sales and forecast data from both companies to identify correlations and build predictive tools. The goal is to improve demand forecasting accuracy by leveraging Milliken’s longer-term order visibility to anticipate Encapsys demand, which typically has a shorter lead time. This project offers a unique opportunity to apply data analytics in a real-world, cross-company supply chain context.
Typical duties include:
- Analyze historical demand data from both Encapsys and Milliken to identify trends and correlations related to shared customer product lines.
- Develop predictive models and tools to improve demand forecasting accuracy using combined sales and forecast data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams from both companies to gather data, understand business drivers, and validate forecasting assumptions.
- Build and maintain dashboards or reports to visualize demand patterns and forecast outcomes.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making in supply chain and planning functions
Education, experience, and qualifications:
- Educational background includes individuals earning their B.S. with at least a 3.00 GPA in any of the following programs, rising Juniors and Seniors preferred:
- Data Science
- Statistics
- Business Analytics
- Supply Chain
- Other supporting competencies include:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with statistical modeling, time series analysis, or machine learning techniques is a plus.
