Gateway Student Support Assistant

o AOur part-time Gateway Student Support Assistant role assists and guides students through the college community with the admissions application process, financial aid application process, registering for classes, and answering questions concerning admissions and financial aid eligibility issues. This position works a maximum of 29 hours per week on our Akron campus.

Hours of Work:   Monday-Tuesday 12-6:30pm, Wed-Fri is 11:30-4:30pm
Hourly Rate: $17.35 to $22.54, commensurate with experience

Typical Responsibilities Include:
 

  • Coordinating effective office procedures and efficient work flow while maintaining excellent customer service, confidentiality, and professional demeanor.
  • Greet students and visitors, directing them to the appropriate offices or persons; provides factual information or materials to routine inquiries.
  • Serve as a backup to other enrollment services staff through cross training, thus providing continuity within the office.
  • Accurately process and maintain student records in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
  • Perform specialized tasks such as document imaging, application processing, eligibility verification, award processing, reporting, and student outreach.
  • Cross-train in multiple areas to provide backup support and ensure continuity of enrollment services.

To Be Considered You'll Need:
 

  • Associate degree is required, preferably in Business, Accounting
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • 1-2 years experience working in an office environment with a high functioning team is preferred.
