Entry-Level Pharmaceutical Formulation Chemist - Oral Dissolvable Strips

Position Overview

Oak Therapeutics is seeking an entry-level Pharmaceutical Formulation Chemist to join our specialized R&D team focused on oral dissolvable strip technology. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development while working with innovative oral film delivery systems. You'll receive mentorship and training while contributing to products that provide patients with convenient, fast-acting medication options.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist in developing and optimizing oral dissolvable strip formulations under senior chemist guidance

· Prepare laboratory-scale batches using film-forming polymers, plasticizers, and active ingredients

· Conduct routine analytical testing including disintegration time, content uniformity, and moisture analysis

· Support stability studies and data collection according to established protocols

· Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and assist in report preparation

· Learn and operate film casting equipment and specialized testing instruments

· Participate in scale-up activities from laboratory to pilot batches

· Assist with troubleshooting formulation and process challenges

· Support cross-functional project teams with data analysis and technical input

· Stay current with oral film technology through literature review and training programs

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field

· 0-2 years of pharmaceutical or related industry experience (internships and co-ops count)

· Strong academic background in chemistry with coursework in analytical chemistry or materials science preferred

· Basic understanding of pharmaceutical principles and drug delivery concepts

· Familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC, UV-Vis spectroscopy, or similar instrumentation

· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Eagerness to learn and work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

· Previous internship or co-op experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, or materials industries

· Coursework or research experience in polymer chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences

· Laboratory experience with formulation development or analytical testing
