We are recruiting a Research Interviewer for a new NIH funded project, “Maternal Outcomes (MOMS) Chat & Care Study,” (PI: Stephanie Fitzpatrick, PhD), a randomized controlled trial being conducted at Northwell Health that is designed to study how an obstetrics chatbot paired with comprehensive care and social support can improve maternal and infant outcomes in Black and Hispanic/LatinX birthing people at risk of severe maternal morbidity.   https://www.momschatandcare.com/

The Research Interviewer will assist with the screening, enrollment, and follow-up of 674 birthing people receiving prenatal and postpartum care at Northwell Health throughout the New York City and Long Island region. The MOMs Chat & Care intervention will identify pregnant people who are < 12 weeks gestation and provide them with access to a chatbot (interactive digital program) that offers weekly insights and access to support throughout the antepartum and postpartum period. This study will occur over a 5-year period, with patients consented and enrolled from 5/1/2024 – 6/1/2026, and each patient enrolled and followed for 1 year post-delivery with follow-up questionnaires.

In this role, the Research Interviewer will work remotely and on-site (office location in Long Island, Manhasset, NY). The research interviewer will be responsible for contacting potentially eligible pregnant patients using a study assigned mobile phone, perform eligibility screening, consent, and enrollment procedures, and administer a telephone survey. Data collected will be entered directly into a REDCap database maintained by Northwell Health. The research interviewer will be provided with training and mentorship and will be required to complete human subjects training. Bilingual (able to read and speak Spanish) research interviewer required.
