POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position requires a security clearance. All candidates must be US Citizens capable of obtaining a U.S. security clearance.

Performs research, development, deployment, and enhancement of enterprise-wide analytics solutions using complex analytics techniques such as optimization methods, regression analysis, statistical analysis, mathematical modeling and programming, machine learning, natural language processing, deep learning, spatial analysis, robotics process automation, artificial intelligence, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Employs the data science life cycle: define the problem, data collection, data cleaning and preparation, exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model building model evaluation, deployment and monitoring.

· Implements computational and machine learning algorithms to big data to identify insights using next generation analytics tools to develop data-driven organization solutions.

· Uses expert level knowledge to utilize common data science tools, including scripted languages (such as R, Python, SQL, and JavaScript), analytics platforms, open-source/commercial off-the - shelf solutions to develop data science products.

· Research and development of project management for statistical data analytics to evaluate, design and develop analytical procedures and processes.

· Uses Computational algorithms and statistical methods that find patterns and relationships in large volumes of data sourced from advanced hardware and software.

· Develops and maintains effective working relationships with USG and SBCC staff and other agencies to share information and learn the latest developments in analytical tools and techniques to efficiently assist USG with mission-related work.

· Communicates with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates: Conducts or attends staff meetings, Consults with managerial or supervisory personnel

· Establishes and Maintains Interpersonal Relationships with community organizations

· Communicates technical information, makes presentations, and writes business correspondence with Persons inside and outside Organization

· Analyzes variety of data, to include operational or management reports or records, organizational operating practices, or procedures, and social or economic data

· Thinks Creatively: provides innovative approaches to solve data analytics and integration

· Coaches and Develops Others to includer conflict resolution techniques, negotiation techniques, oral or written communication techniques, and public speaking techniques

· Identifies Objects, Actions, and Events; interprets the meaning of Information for Others

· Interacts With Computers, Processing Information, and Monitors Processes

· Coordinates with others, deals with external customers, and works with workgroups or teams

Required education and experience Level 1

· Bachelor's Degree: Data engineering, data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

· Data Science tools such as R, Python, SQL, and JavaScript

· 1 year of experience

Preferred education and experience

· Documented work on data engineering, data science, computer science, mathematics, or statistics projects.

Required education and experience Level 2

· Bachelor's Degree: Data engineering, data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

· Data Science tools such as R, Python, SQL, and JavaScript

· 3 years of experience

Required education and experience Level 3

· Bachelor's Degree: Data engineering, data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

· Data Science tools such as R, Python, SQL, and JavaScript

· 5 years of experience

Work environment

· Hybrid mix: minimum of 3 days/week onsite at Scott AFB IL and maximum of 2 days/week remote

· Facility environment

Travel required

· Commute to and from Scott AFB, IL
