Social Media Intern

Job Title: Social Media & Patient Engagement Intern – Medical Practice (Newport Beach, CA)

About Us:
We are Newport Beach’s first direct primary care practice. We help patients feel cared for in a way that is approachable, fun, and human. We are looking for a quirky, funny & highly motivated intern to manage our social media presence and engage potential patients.

Role Overview:
This is an in-person, hands-on role ideal for a UCI student who loves TikTok/IG trends and can turn medical expertise into entertaining, informative, and shareable content. You’ll work closely with the doctor and Dr C's assistant Elena, also a UCI student (pre-med rising senior), to create daily posts, develop content ideas, engage with potential patients, and help convert interest into bookings. This position has the potential to grow into a full-time role for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

Film in-office content every Thursday (doctor-led tips, behind-the-scenes, FAQs, quick skits). We are usually in the office seeing patients every Thursday 9-4pm so at least a few hours should overlap with ours!

Edit videos into TikToks/Reels with captions, trending audio, and creative flair.

Post content daily (7x/week) across Instagram and TikTok.

Research current social media trends and pitch new ideas weekly.

Engage with comments and DMs in a friendly, professional manner.

Follow up with inquiries from social media or website leads, communicate the value of our practice, and guide potential patients toward booking appointments (ethical and professional).

Track analytics weekly and suggest ways to optimize reach and engagement.

Collaborate closely with Elena to ensure smooth workflow, alignment with practice goals, and consistent brand voice.

Requirements:

Current UCI student, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field. Pre-med is also ok! But you must have some social media experience.

Active on TikTok/Instagram and familiar with trends, humor, and engaging content formats.

Strong video editing skills (CapCut, InShot, Canva, Premiere, or similar).

Creative, reliable, and able to work independently.

Sense of humor, quirkiness, and ability to craft content that is authentic, funny, and not overly self-promotional (Dr C thinks the docs on ig who are constantly self-promoting are so so cringey).

Portfolio of actual content you’ve created, such as:

Personal TikTok or Instagram videos that demonstrate real social media skill

Freelance or paid social media content

YouTube or other short-form video projects
(Class projects are not accepted)

Culture & Fit:
We are looking for someone energetic, fun, confident, and professional, who will thrive in a fast-moving creative environment, and who can represent our practice with personality and integrity.

Compensation:

Base pay: $23/hr (~10 hrs/week, paid weekly)

Performance bonuses:

+$60 for any video that hits 50k views

+$120 for any video that hits 100k views

Bonuses are cumulative, so high-performing videos can earn multiple bonuses per month

Why You’ll Love This Role:

Hands-on experience managing a real medical practice’s social media.

Creative freedom to experiment with trends, humor, and storytelling.

Opportunity to engage with potential patients and see the real-world impact of your work.

Flexible schedule with only one in-person filming day per week.

Free medical care (Dr C treats her employees like family, always).

Work closely with Elena, our pre-med assistant, for guidance and collaboration.

Portfolio-building opportunity with published work that will be seen by thousands.

Potential to grow into a full-time role with more responsibility and creative freedom.

How to Apply:
Send the following to rylie@aditicorreamd.com
