Teaching and Preaching Intern


 

Reports To

The Teaching and Preaching Intern will report to the Senior Pastor.


 

Job Overview

The Teaching and Preaching Intern will focus on growing in an ability to communicate and proclaim God’s Word. The goal for this position is to equip the intern(s) with strategies, models and techniques in the areas of preaching, teaching, and leadership, which will give them confidence in proclaiming God’s Word while communicating God’s love and grace to their audiences. The areas of learning will include Christ centered and Holy Spirit empowered Bible study, sermon prep, sermon series prep, effective teaching, powerful preaching, and church senior leadership. The experience will include opportunities to preach and teach to all ages of the church. 


 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Studying the Bible
  • Assisting in the development of future sermon series, assisting in the preparation of Sunday sermons, assisting in preparation for future classes.
  • Teaching in Kids, Student, College, and Young adult ministries
  • Participate in College and Young Adult Ministry
  • Studying and learning teaching and preaching techniques
  • Preaching at least one time in the adult services
  • Ministry activities; Hospital Visits, Guest Connection, Discipleship.



 

Qualifications

  • Called to senior pastor or teaching and preaching ministry
  • Experience preaching and teaching in a church setting
  • Basic Bible study training
  • Basic research training
  • Event Leadership experience
  • Completion of at least three years of college


 

Other

The Teaching and Preaching intern must have a heart to lead in the local church as a senior pastor or in the ministry of teaching and preaching. We believe in the power of proclaiming the truth of God’s word and are seeking to help others grow in their ability to achieve that goal. This person must be humble, teachable, and willing to serve under senior leadership. They must also have conservative theological views.
