Position Summary:
The Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a Department Administrator to oversee a broad range of administrative tasks to support the Department’s mission to perform excellent patient vision care, provide community and medical education and to promote high impact research. The Department Administrator provides comprehensive support to the Department across key functional areas, including finance and budgeting, human resources, educational program administration, and supporting faculty.
In this role, you will:
- provide direct administrative support to the Department Chair, including scheduling coordination, assisting in communication with the medical school and faculty, and organizing meetings with members of the department
- develop, monitor, and report on departmental budgets and financial activities, including the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports to support decision-making by the Department Chair
- manage all personnel transactions, including hiring, reappointments, promotions, and preparation of faculty promotion and tenure dossiers
- provide administrative oversight for the medical student clerkship program, acting as the primary contact for students, faculty, and partner sites. This includes supporting clerkship directors, managing didactic schedules, coordinating student documentation and evaluations, and assisting with compliance and accreditation reporting
- advise and support faculty on a variety of matters to ensure faculty have adequate support to focus on teaching, research, service, and clinical care.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience or master’s degree or professional certification with no experience

Salary Range:
$55,000 - $65,000
