Audit Staff Accountant

We are currently seeking an audit staff accountant to join our team.

Essential Functions

• Perform substantive audit testing of account balances and transactions (cash, receivables, payables, revenues, expenses, etc.).
• Execute analytical procedures to identify unexpected trends or variances.
• Inspect documents and records for compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Perform audit sampling and document results.
• Prepare detailed audit workpapers that clearly support conclusions.
• Ensure workpapers meet firm quality standards and are properly cross-referenced.
• Communicate with client personnel to obtain needed documentation and explanations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Understanding of financial accounting and GAAP
• Research and analytical skills
• Team player/ability to work well with co-workers and other departments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, audit software (a plus)

Educational Requirements and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an advanced degree from an accredited university in accounting
• CPA license or progress toward completion of license requirements (a plus)
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
