
Assistant Venue Manager
Assistant Venue Manager for new event space (i.e. venue for weddings, corporate events, cultural celebrations, seminars, theater, music performances, etc.) in Seattle.
Looking for: Highly self-motivated, individual adept at researching and tracking down information. Strong social media, graphic design, technology and writing skills. Quick learner with exceptional natural sales skills, positive attitude, and fantastic follow-up skills. No prior event planning experience required but a plus. Willing to “roll-up the sleeves” and be hands-on in managing events.
Specific Tasks
· Learn about the event management business by reviewing competitor websites and how they market
· Investigate target audience (e.g. corporate planners, event managers, wedding coordinators, wedding couples, private parties, etc.) and determine the best marketing vehicles to reach them.
· Build database of potential client contacts
· Attend events and learn from them
· Develop a page and regularly post on social media
· Create and manage directory listings, direct mail, print ads, etc.
· Attend/Make sales calls to potential clients: companies that conduct corporate events, event planners, sporting clubs, etc.
· Help with managing actual events (coordinate vendors, setup/takedown, etc.)
