College 1st Program Special Project Coordinator
College 1st seeks undergraduate and graduate students motivated to make a meaningful difference across our RGV communities.
We believe all students can be successful. Those who explore and design their future college and career plans early will have more time, options, and resources to become better prepared to succeed. Students can only aspire to become what they know. We exist to educate, inspire, and guide all students who want to #BeSuccessful.
We partner with visionary leaders from school districts, education service centers, and post-secondary institutions who believe all their students can succeed in college and future careers. We actively seek these essential partnerships to accomplish our joint mission of preparing all students for college, career, and life success.
We work with students on their future. We strive to facilitate the best college and career exploration student experience through hands-on academic enrichment activities and real-world mentorship opportunities. We give students the knowledge, skills, and guidance to accomplish their future college, career, and life goals.
The College 1st Program exists to:
- Promote the importance of completing a post-secondary education to all students.
2. Bring awareness of different career opportunities through hands-on academic enrichment activities and mentorship experiences.
3. Define and put into practice the essential 21st-century skills for students to achieve college, career, and life success.
A free, distinctive, and creative culture is embedded in our College 1st Team. This generates an inspirational dynamic among the students and their families we work with to achieve what, in most cases, has never been achieved before in their family: a college education completion. Since 2013, the College 1st Team has developed and delivered life-changing experiences by facilitating hands-on career exploration activities and mentorship opportunities across the State of Texas. Our DNA is to bring awareness to students and parents on the opportunities to enroll and complete a post-secondary education. The impact we generate when we provide these student and parent experiences goes beyond measure. We can only be successful in our mission through close collaboration between a combination of different perspectives, career backgrounds, and personalities crafted to form a creative, innovative, and dynamic team. That is how our mighty College 1st Team can progress and create momentum in our mission across the Rio Grande Valley and Texas.
This internship has been designed for students who are looking to accumulate relevant professional experience in their field of study. This internship position requires professional success skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. We are looking for the best students who are professional and committed to becoming successful leaders in their industries. This experience will help you become a master facilitator of learning in any industry.
The professional and career-relevant hands-on experience our College 1st Team members obtain in this internship has allowed them to continue their careers at SpaceX, Intel, Toyota, Samsung, Doctors' Hospital at Renaissance, Southwest Medical, Texas Instruments, Halliburton, Non-Profit Organizations, Federal Government Agencies, Architecture Construction Firms, Law Enforcement Agencies, Financial Institutions, School Districts, and more. In some cases, the College 1st Internship experience they accumulate has significantly impacted granting admission to Medical Schools, Law School, Dental School, and other Graduate Programs in TCU, NYU, Baylor, UTRGV, and other universities.
College 1st Creative Team Members: We are also seeking a creative team that can capture the student and parent experiences through photos, videos, and the development of articles to expand the mission of our work using visual arts technology and generative AI. These publications are uploaded to our College 1st website, social media channels, school district websites, and local media. If you like to capture creative photos and videos, edit reels, or write articles, we encourage you to apply to our College 1st Creative Team.
