Donation Coordinator

Outreach is hiring a Full-time Donation Coordinator at Outreach Jubilee Furniture in Carol Stream to support our donation operations. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth donation process, providing excellent service to donors, and supporting the success of our store.

Responsibilities
- Respond to inquiries about furniture donations via phone, email, and in person.
- Evaluate donation offers based on store needs, condition, and resale value.
- Schedule pickups and coordinate logistics with the donation pickup team.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure donors have a positive experience.
- Maintain accurate records of donations and donor information in line with data standards.
- Collaborate with store, pricing, and warehouse teams to balance inventory and prioritize high-demand items.
- Identify unsellable items and coordinate recycling, disposal, or alternative uses.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, businesses, and individuals for ongoing donation sources.
- Support donation campaigns, events, and seasonal promotions.
- Train and guide volunteers or temporary staff in donation handling when needed.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
- Prior experience in logistics, retail, customer service, or warehouse
operations. - Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with scheduling tools, basic computer applications, and
database entry. - Ability to problem-solve and make quick, customer-focused decisions.
- A commitment to Outreach’s Statement of Mission and Faith is required.
- Physical ability to lift/move furniture and assist with donation handling
as needed. - Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and lift
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- May involve driving or riding along with donation pickup team, if
applicable.
