Position Overview 

The Cambridge School of Weston (CSW) seeks a Director of Summer & Auxiliary Programs to lead, grow, and innovate all aspects of CSW Summer and Auxiliary Programs, including the school’s flagship CSW Summer Camp, Global Summer Academy, and facility rental operations. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Initiatives, this role blends entrepreneurial vision with hands-on management to ensure CSW’s offerings reflect the highest standards of safety, creativity, and educational excellence. 

The Director will serve as the operational and visionary leader of CSW Summer (cswsummer.org), a vibrant day camp for children ages 4–15, featuring daily activities in swimming, sports, arts, nature exploration, and enrichment, alongside specialty camps, Mini-Mods for high school students, and international programs. From Talent Tuesdays and Wacky Wednesdays to swim lessons, creative arts, and outdoor adventures, CSW Summer offers a joyful, inclusive, and safe community where campers and staff thrive. 

Key Responsibilities 

Summer Programs (Primary Focus)* 

  • Operational Leadership: Manage all aspects of CSW Summer Camp & Programs.
  • Program Design & Development: Build and refine engaging programming in swim, sports, arts & crafts, drama, science, and themed events. Ensure all programming reflects best practices in youth development. 
  • Staff Leadership: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise faculty and camp staff. Cultivate a collaborative, fun, and safe camp culture. 
  • Camper & Family Engagement: Serve as a primary point of contact for families. Oversee registration, parent communication, and vendor partnerships. Enhance camper experience through extended care, dining, and community-based programming. 
  • Logistics & Compliance: Coordinate daily schedules and facility use (gym, art building, pool, fields, wooded trails, and Cat Rock). Ensure full compliance with state and local guidelines.
  • Budget Management: Develop, implement, and oversee budgets for all summer programs.
  • Serve as CPO and oversee Pool operations.

Marketing & Communications* 

  • Partner with the Director of Strategic Initiatives and the Marketing and Communications Department to promote CSW Summer and auxiliary offerings. 
  • Manage the CSW Summer website and related social media channels. 
  • Develop engaging marketing campaigns, both digital and print. 
  • Represent CSW at camp fairs, open houses, and other events. 
  • Produce timely communications for families, including daily updates during camp and weekly posts throughout the school year. 
  • Document programs through photography, video, and storytelling to support future marketing. 

Auxiliary Programs & Strategic Growth* 

  • Expand auxiliary programming to generate revenue and strengthen community connections.
  • Assist with Global Summer Academy and international programming. 
  • Develop and oversee additional enrichment opportunities such as weekend workshops and seasonal classes. 
  • Partner with the Assistant Director of Athletics on evening and weekend rentals during the school year. 
  • Manage special projects and new initiatives as assigned. 

*Essential Job Functions 

Schedule Expectations 

  • Summer Season: Full camp schedule, Monday–Friday, with additional weekend responsibilities during residential or extended programs. 
  • School Year: Full-time schedule with some evening and weekend work required for rentals and auxiliary programming. 

Skills & Qualifications 

Experience: 

  • 5–7 years of experience in summer/auxiliary program leadership, with at least 3–5 years in management roles. 
  • Expertise in youth development, camp operations, curriculum design, and regulatory compliance.

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. 

Skills: 

  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication abilities. 
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting, mentoring, and supervising staff. 
  • Budget development and financial management experience. 
  • Proficiency with Google Suite; experience with Homeroom.com (preferred).
  • Familiarity with WordPress, digital marketing, and professional use of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn). 
  • Creative, strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills. 
  • Enthusiasm for camp traditions, community-building, and experiential learning. 

Other Requirements: 

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally. 
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
