CSEA Legislative & Political Action Internship

CSEA is New York’s leading union, representing 300,000 active and retired, public and private sector workers. We are looking to fill two full-time, paid internship positions in our Legislative & Political Action Department. The internship runs from the beginning of the legislative session in early January through the end of the session in late June. 

Our interns are the eyes and ears for the Department for day-to-day operations at the New York State Capitol during the State legislative session. Interns work directly with registered professional lobbyists to learn the legislative process from the inside out. Interns attend committee meetings, public hearings, legislative session, social events and more. By the end of this internship, they will have the ability to read, analyze and fully understand proposed legislation and regulations and know the political context behind it.
