Events & Engagement Intern

Join the People Are Why team as an Events & Engagement Intern and gain real-world experience in event planning, employee engagement. You'll work closely with a supportive and experienced team to help organize company events, handle ticketing and administrative tasks, and contribute to a positive and inclusive company culture. This is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of event coordination and employee engagement in a corporate setting. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:  

Help keep track of event tickets and respond to employee requests 

Answer emails and direct questions to the right team member 

Support planning for in-person and virtual events  

Help with event tasks like making invitations, setting schedules, coordinating vendors, and supporting post-event follow up 

Pitch in on projects that recognize employees and build company culture 

Gain hands-on experience in helping organize and improve how events are run. 

Assist the team with other tasks as needed 

Hybrid role with primarily weekday hours; only a couple of evenings or weekends required as needed (overtime eligible) 
 

Required Skills:  

Positive attitude and excitement to learn 

Friendly and helpful – great with people! 

Good communication skills (writing and speaking) 

Flexible and able to handle tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment 

Creative problem-solver – we like new ideas

Minimum Education and Experience: 

Some experience working in a fast-paced setting (school, job, or volunteer work counts!) 

Basic computer skills, especially Word and Excel 

Experience with SharePoint is a bonus, but not required
