Creative Content Producer

WFXR/WWCW in Roanoke, VA is looking for a Creative Content Producer to help shape the next generation of local storytelling across every screen. This is an ideal opportunity for a rising content creator, recent grad, or early-career producer looking to grow their skills in a dynamic, supportive environment.

 

In this hybrid creative role, you’ll produce a wide variety of content, from on-air promos and sponsored segments to digital-first social videos and live stream support. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

      • Write, shoot, and edit video content for TV, web, social media, and streaming platforms

      • Produce vertical and short-form video for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, etc.

      • Coordinate and project manage WFXR+ CTV content.

      • Support live streaming projects (community events, social livestreams, special features)

      • Assist in creating sponsored segments, client-facing content, and basic commercial work

      • Collaborate with Creative Services leadership on campaign messaging and station branding

      • Capture behind-the-scenes content or short promos for original programming and talent

      • Prepare and organize gear, media, and locations for shoots

      • Edit content to platform-specific specs and assist with file delivery across teams

      • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Requirements & Skills

      • 1–2 years of video production experience (freelance, college, or professional)

      • Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro

      • Familiarity with live streaming software (OBS, Restream, or similar)

      • Working knowledge of After Effects and Photoshop a plus

      • Comfortable with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, audio recording, and lighting setups

      • Knowledge of current trends in social media and short-form video storytelling

      • Excellent time management, creativity, and communication skills

      • Must be collaborative, self-motivated, and willing to learn

      • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

      • Occasional evenings, weekends, or holiday shifts may be required

 

Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience assisting or producing live stream content (events, social lives, Twitch/YouTube)

      • Prior work on sponsored or branded video campaigns

      • Strong understanding of vertical video formats and digital engagement best practices

      • Bonus: Motion graphics experience with After Effects templates
