Actuarial Analyst-Full Time

As an actuarial analyst on our team, you’ll use data to solve complex business problems, work closely with a mentor, and apply your insight in one of the following roles:

Loss Reserving Actuarial Analyst - As an Actuarial Analyst on our Loss Reserving team you’ll review multiple segments of the business and historical data on claims losses to estimate projections for claims payout balance sheets. Along with the opportunity to present your estimations to business leaders, we’ll provide study time and cost assistance for actuarial exams.

Actuarial Pricing  Analyst- As an Actuarial Pricing Analyst on our team, you’ll review rates at both the product and state level, using historical premium and claim data. Your recommendations will influence our ability to find the right price and coverage for our customers, and you’ll participate in implementing these changes. You’ll also have the opportunity to present your recommendations to product managers. Additionally, we provide study time and financial assistance for actuarial exams.

Must-have qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field of study.
  • In lieu of a quantitative degree, a bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of 2 years of analytical work experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 3 years of analytical work experience.
  • Minimum of 1 passed actuarial exam recognized by the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Preferred skills

  • Combine company, industry, and competitor information into holistic recommendations
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses using data analysis tools
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPivot, Access, R, SAS, SQL, or Tableau
  • Conduct formal statistical analyses (for example, weighted regression) using R or SAS as needed, including interpreting diagnostic information
  • Good communication skills including visualization of quantitative information for non-technical audiences

Compensation

  • $73,500 annualized +$6,000 starting bonus
  • Gainshare bonus up to 24% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
