Academic Enrichment Specialist (Montessori Concentration)
The Academic Enrichment Specialist (AES) will assist in strategic planning and implementation of current Montessori programs. This role requires a deep understanding of Montessori philosophy, educational practices, and a passion for fostering a nurturing learning environment.
The Academic Enrichment Specialist will work collaboratively with our center management, teachers, and other staff. Provide training and support to teachers on philosophy, materials, and instructional strategies. The Academic Enrichment Specialist will assist in implementation of long-term plans and policies as defined by the Vice President of Education, to stabilize current programs. Our programs do include the Virginia State curriculum known as STREAMin3.
- Develop and implement enrichment programs aligned with developmental stages of students.
- Collaborate with management and teachers to integrate principles into existing curriculum.
- Provide training and support to teachers on philosophy, materials, and instructional strategies.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress and enrichment programs.
- Stay updated on trends and research in education to inform program development.
- Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and parent education sessions on programs.
- Attend educational department and school meetings, conferences or trainings as directed.
- Create and distributes certificates for training sessions as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- At least five (5) years' experience in education and two (2) years' experience with Montessori, either running or supervising a classroom(s).
- Certification in Montessori education (AMI or AMS) strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to travel throughout the centers located across Virginia.
- Flexibility to work hours based on the needs of the school and program.
- Must be able to perform all physical aspects of the position as called for throughout the day, including but not limited to lifting; getting up and down on the floor; bending to the child’s level; and standing for an undetermined amount of time.
