Job Summary
NutriScience Innovations (NSI) is looking for a high-energy individual to join our team! In this role, the Quality Intern will work with our team to: (a) Preparing and shipping ingredient sample requests in support of stakeholder projects; and (b) Supporting NSI’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Program through the execution of quality verification activities as time permits.
Essential Functions:
Sample Processing (Primary)
- Process sample requests to ensure timely delivery to stakeholders.
- Package sample products according to NSI’s packaging procedures; ensure each sample is neat and presentable.
- Prepare sample products for shipment based on customer-specific and/or NSI internal requirements.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of key ingredients on a monthly basis for both bulk inventory and pre-packaged samples; collaborate with the Supply Chain Team to replenish bulk inventory stock.
- Organize and label sample stock appropriately and as needed.
- Clean and sanitize sample preparation areas in accordance with Quality Team instructions.
- Follow all GMP procedures to maintain clean work areas free from contamination risks.
- Clean and maintain the repackaging room at least weekly.
GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) Support (Secondary-As Time Permits)
- Inspect all inbound and outbound materials; collaborate with the Supply Chain Team to ensure timely inspections and report any non-conforming materials to the Quality Manager.
- Conduct food safety inspections to ensure compliance with hygienic practices across the facility.
- Complete cleaning logs for the repackaging room and the Master Sanitation Program.
- Monitor and log facility temperature and humidity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to commit to 24 hours per week (Mon, Tue, & Thur.)
- Previous GMP environment experience is preferred, but we are open to training the right candidate.
- Basic computer skills required, including the ability to use spreadsheets, email, and software programs.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Conscientiousness is a must. Candidates must have the ability to track tasks without losing sight on things that need to get done.
- Self-motivated and a bias towards being proactive is a must. Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- The ability to work as part of a team and build and enjoy strong relationships in the workplace
Working Conditions
- Essential functions require frequent transporting and moving packaged ingredients up to 30 lbs & remaining in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Environment: Essential functions of the position are performed in both a warehouse and an office environment.
