Summer 2026 Internship - Legal and Corporate Affairs

That’s where you come into play. Test drive the tools in your educational toolbox and learn some new skills along the way with an 11-week paid internship with us. Your internship with Ally will move you from educated to experienced.

The Ally Internship Program guides and mentors students with development opportunities and experiences that support your career interests while also driving the business forward. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with diverse teams and functions across the company. You will interact with Ally’s leadership and learn from their personal successes. You will gain the experience to know what it means to be an Ally!

As part of our Internship Program, you will have an opportunity to:

  • Have hands on experience and project-based work
  • Attend Orientation, Executive Speaking Series, and learning sessions as an Intern cohort
  • Participate in Mentoring Program and Giving Back Events
  • Network with your peers, your team, and those Allys you find interesting
  • Lead an end of assignment presentation

The Details

  • Internship Program Timing: May 26 – August 7, 2026
  • 40 hours each week with a mix of in-office and remote working days
  • Project-based work
  • Market competitive hourly compensation and a sign-on bonus, as well as financial housing assistance for those who qualify
  • Successful interns will have the opportunity to return to Ally in an Early Talent Program or full-time role, or to a second internship, depending upon graduation timing.

The Work Itself

The LCA internship program is comprised of opportunities within the Office of Legal and Corporate Affairs, Compliance, Sustainability and the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).  The responsibilities of these functions are to drive the company’s culture of compliance with laws, regulations, and company polices through independently reviewing risks and providing credible challenge to business line management and providing regulatory program and initiatives specific to financial institutions. The LCA interns will have the opportunity to:

  • Attend formal company orientation and training
  • Participate in executive speaking series
  • Have hands on experience in area of study; as well as participate in project-based work
  • Participate in an Employee Resource Group mentoring program
  • Lead an end of assignment presentation
  • Leadership and career development
  • Networking opportunities

 

The Skills You Bring

Required qualifications.

  • Rising Junior or Senior (during the time of internship) in a full-time undergraduate program.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Available for the full duration of the internship program.
  • Eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship from the company now or in the future.

Preferred qualifications. 

  • Previous internship experience or relevant project work is preferred.
  • Extracurricular activities/leadership experience is preferred (student organizations, volunteering, sports, part-time roles, etc.)
