Our team works directly with Indiana lawmakers, caucus, and Legislative Services Agency staff to support their business processes with custom applications and tools. The Office of Technology Services (OTS) is a department within the Legislative Services Agency (LSA) that provides members of the Indiana General Assembly (IGA) with nonpartisan, objective legal support, fiscal analysis, and technology services.

A creative and ambitious self-starter, driven by finding unique and effective solutions to complex problems. Someone eager to learn about the legislative process and ready to leverage technology to make processes more effective and transparent.
A challenging and rewarding role
Your role as an intern can be as big as you want to make it. Our interns are engaged in every step of the Indiana General Assembly legislative process by:
- Attending and supporting standing legislative committees.
- Validating IGA website data timeliness and accuracy.
- Working with end users, business analysts, and infrastructure staff to support and troubleshoot mission-critical software.
- Paid $20.00 per hour, ranging between 15 and 35 hours per week.
Baseline qualifications
- Ability to be on-site at the Indiana Statehouse between January-March of 2026 with a few days of training in December 2025 or January 2026 (TBD)
- Ability to be on-site at the Indiana Statehouse between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. We allow flexible schedules but prefer interns who have full-day availability (i.e. full day M/W or T/Th);
- Professional dress required at all times (jacket and tie for men, suits or long skirts/dresses for women);
- Strong communication skills (written and oral) and problem-solving skills.
Ideal qualifications
- A personal interest in and knowledge of the legislative process (ability to learn these processes is an absolute must).
- Applicable experience in a similar environment in an analyst, developer, architectural, design, QA, technical writing, or user experience role.
- General proficiency with Windows, IOS, Microsoft Office, and Slack.
