Youth Program Assistant II

GHRO Your Future is a dynamic program committed to supporting the growth and development of middle school and high school girls in Central Ohio. Our engaging sessions run bi-monthly on Saturdays from September to April, providing valuable experiences for participants.
As a Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and success of our GHRO Your Future program. This is an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience in non-profit program coordination, youth engagement, and administrative support, while directly contributing to the growth and development of girls in our community.
Schedule:
- Bi-monthly Saturdays, September - April (morning/afternoon availability required)
- Wednesday availability (2:00-6:30 PM required)
- General weekday availability preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Support: Assist the Director of Youth Programs & Engagement and the programming team with the logistical planning and execution of Saturday program sessions, including setting up activity spaces, preparing materials, and supervising participants.
- Participant Engagement: Act as a welcoming and supportive presence for program participants, helping to foster a positive and inclusive environment. This may include guiding activities, facilitating discussions, and providing encouragement.
- Administrative Assistance: Support various administrative tasks, such as managing program attendance records, organizing program resources, and assisting with communication to participants and families.
- Event Logistics: Help coordinate special events or workshops, including ordering supplies, arranging refreshments, and ensuring a smooth flow of activities.
- Communication: Assist in drafting program-related communications, updates, and reminders for participants and stakeholders.
- Feedback & Evaluation: Support efforts to gather feedback from participants to help improve future program offerings.
- Other duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the GHRO Your Future program.
What We're Looking For:
- Degree or minimum 2 years of related experience in Education, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Youth Development, or related fields.
- Genuine interest in youth empowerment and community-based programs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse groups of people.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the Saturday program schedule from September to April.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Speak Haitian Creole or Somali is a plus.
