Encapsys (www.encapsys.com), now a part of Milliken & Company (www.milliken.com) is looking to hire student intern and co-ops for the 2026 calendar year to join our team in Appleton, WI. This is a competitively paid position being offered to students in a Chemical Engineering, Material Science/Engineering, or Chemistry program. Students are also offered a special benefits package which includes a housing allowance and paid time off.
Encapsys operates in the specialty chemicals industry. Holding over 75 encapsulation patents, Encapsys is a global leader in encapsulation technologies within two primary business segments – Fragrance and Agriculture. Encapsys operates highly scalable encapsulation processes that deliver superior products.

Students will work on both collaborative and independent projects in conjunction with the engineer/scientist project leaders. Each student is assigned a mentor to provide guidance through the processes of training, developing, and contributing.
Research and development plays a vital role in our position as a leader in the encapsulation market. Ongoing investment in R&D will continue to enable us to develop core competencies in encapsulation processes and applications and grow our business with new and existing customers.
Typical job duties for an R&D co-op/intern include:
- Designing, planning, conducting and analyzing lab experiments
- Partnering with engineers/scientists on Lab, pilot or production experimental trials
- Producing written summary reports and presentations
- Evaluating trial products
- Current projects include:
- New product developments
- Product line extensions
- Cost and quality improvement projects
- Prototype development
- New product scale-ups
Education, experience and qualifications:
- Educational background includes individuals earning their B.S. or M.S. with at least a 3.00 GPA in any of the following programs, rising Juniors and Seniors preferred:
- Chemical Engineering
- Chemistry
- Biochemistry
- Material Science/Engineering
