Lab Technician (Associate Researcher)
Dr. Xiaoting Wu’s laboratory at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is looking for a motivated Lab Technician (Associate Researcher) with an interest in neuroscience research. In this position, you’ll have the opportunity to learn cutting-edge techniques including optogenetics, in vivo calcium imaging, and single-cell RNA sequencing and contribute to research projects exploring the neural basis of social cognition. Furthermore, the successful applicant will be trained to perform their own independent research and receive mentorship in all aspects of scientific research from project design and execution to publication.

Job description:
- perform rodent stereotaxic surgeries, tissue dissection and dissociation
- conduct molecular and behavioral experiments (e.g. optogenetics, calcium imaging, IHC, scRNA-seq)
- managing lab logistics (animal colony, protocols)
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or related subject
- commitment of 2 years
Preferred qualifications:
- experience working with rodents
- computational skills (e.g. R)
