Crop Scout Intern
Peterson Farms is a progressive, family-operated row crop production farm based out of Loretto, KY.
As a Crop Scout Intern, you can expect to gain an understanding of how we use different agronomic processes to produce high yields at a large scale, all the while maintaining proper stewardship of the land that we farm. This is a very hands-on scouting internship where interns will spend >90% of their time in the field.
Crop Scout Interns will have a wide array of duties, including but not limited to:
- Growth staging various crops
- Identifying weeds, insects, and diseases
- Stand counting various crops
- Pulling soil and tissue samples
- Utilizing precision agriculture applications
- Helping the agronomy team make operational decisions based on collected data
