Position Overview

The Lien Negotiator will be responsible for managing and reducing medical liens, health insurance reimbursements, and other claims associated with personal injury cases. This role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with healthcare providers, insurance carriers, and internal legal teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

Review and analyze case files to identify outstanding medical liens and reimbursement obligations.

Negotiate reductions of medical provider liens, Medicare/Medicaid, and private insurance claims.

Maintain detailed records of lien negotiations, agreements, and payment arrangements.

Communicate regularly with attorneys, paralegals, and case managers regarding lien status and case resolution timelines.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding lien resolution and reimbursement.

Prepare settlement statements accurately reflecting negotiated lien amounts.

Track lien negotiation progress and provide regular updates to case teams.

Excellent and proactive communication with clients.

 

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of lien negotiation or related experience in a personal injury law firm or insurance setting.

Skills:

Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.

Education: Bachelor’s degree
