Position Overview
We’re seeking a motivated law student to support our expanding legal advocacy efforts—especially in areas touching on nonprofit operations, policy infrastructure, and the Wisconsin legislative and administrative processes. This internship provides hands-on experience in public interest law, nonprofit operations, policy advocacy, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
-Conduct legal research on Wisconsin’s legislative priorities, administrative procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
-Assist in drafting advocacy materials, including fact sheets, policy briefs, and nonprofit governance resources.
-Track legislative and administrative developments around Wisconsin Appleseed priority areas
- Assist in the management of administrative non-profit systems and functions.

Qualifications
Current law student (2L or 3L preferred)
Genuine interest in public interest law
Strong legal research and writing abilities
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Commitment to social justice, policy reform, and systemic change

Mentor guidance from Board Members and legal professionals in Wisconsin’s top firms, with exposure to nonprofit governance and operational functions
Broader exposure to coalition building, advocacy, and the mechanics of nonprofit operations in a policy-driven environment
Networking and professional relationship-building within Wisconsin’s public interest legal and nonprofit community
