Summer Legal Intern - Summer 2026
We are seeking a Summer Legal Intern for our Corporate Legal Department, located in Columbus, OH. In this role, you will primarily provide legal support to the legal team members and business clients on a wide variety of matters ranging from regulatory compliance and employment law to commercial transactions and litigation. You will also be responsible for project management tasks on critical legal projects affecting multiple jurisdictions and multiple business units. The role offers significant growth opportunity for someone with basic legal skills and little or no experience in the field of corporate legal matters and regulatory compliance.
The duties and responsibilities of this intern may include but are not limited to:
- Leading legal research projects using tools like LexisNexis, MT's legal Wiki, and Microsoft Excel
- Supporting the California Privacy Rights Act project among other time sensitive legal projects
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating basic transactional documents in accordance with METTLER TOLEDO contract principles
- Participating in required meetings and contribute to Legal Department initiatives (e.g., help organize employee trainings etc.)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understand the importance of building strong relationships
- The desire and ability to work effectively in an open, supportive team environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable in collaborative and cross-cultural working environments
Education/Experience Required
- Must be a 2nd year law student (2L) at an accredited law school (anticipated graduation date May 2027)
