Middle School Attendance Office Paraprofessional
Position Summary:
The Attendance Office Paraprofessional supports the daily operation of the office, providing assistance to students, teachers, and staff. This position requires familiarity with computers and online applications, strong multitasking skills, and a willingness to learn new tools and processes. The Attendance Office Paraprofessional ensures a welcoming, organized, and efficient environment that supports the academic and personal growth of students throughout the school day.
Qualifications:
•High School diploma is required, an Associate’s Degree is preferred
•Excellent computer abilities with Google Applications and other business-related software products
•Experience with Excel and working in student databases (e.g., Aspen/SIS, etc.) is preferred
•Good communication skills with a friendly and helpful attitude.
•Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Duties:
•Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality when dealing with student and staff information for the purpose of ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
•Responsible for collecting information about student absences, admitting students who may arrive late, checking out students who may be leaving early and completing accurate and timely attendance reports each day.
•Contact parents/guardians to verify student absences.
•Responds to questions from a variety of internal and external sources (e.g., staff, other educational institutions, the public, parents, and/or students, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or directions.
•Responsible for assisting in ensuring accurate and timely completion of regulatory requirements as needed.
•Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school district.
•Supports and serves as backup to other support personnel to provide assistance and coverage with their functions and responsibilities as needed.
