Position Overview

Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy — yet owners across the nation face significant challenges, including rising costs, limited access to credit, workforce shortages, and navigating a complex maze of government programs. Both federal and state governments have developed extensive assistance programs — from grants and loans to tax relief and development funds — but the process of finding and applying for these opportunities often proves overwhelming for entrepreneurs.

At I.R.D.I. Business Group® LLC, our mission is simple yet vital: to support. Guided by our motto, “Providing Real World Solutions for Real World Problems,” we are seeking senior and master’s students with a passion for finance and research who want to help America’s small business owners identify, understand, and access these programs. This internship offers a unique opportunity to translate complex government systems into meaningful support for entrepreneurs nationwide.

 

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze federal and state financial assistance programs available to small businesses, including grants, loans, incentives, and relief funds.
  • Identify program benefits, eligibility requirements, and barriers that small business owners face in accessing them.
  • Translate complex financial and policy information into clear, actionable insights for entrepreneurs.
  • Prepare research reports and outreach materials that support small businesses in making informed financial decisions.
  • Work with I.R.D.I. Business Group® LLC teams to recommend strategies that strengthen small business access to financial support.

Qualifications

  • Current senior undergraduate or master’s student majoring in Finance, Economics, Public Policy, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to simplify complexity.
  • Interest in economic development, small business policy, and government programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to make a meaningful contribution.
