Case Manager - 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund

Job Title: Case Manager – 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund (VCF)

Position Summary:
The Case Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients pursuing claims under the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and compassionate client service. The Case Manager will manage a high-volume caseload, ensure accurate documentation, and coordinate with attorneys and intake staff to move claims forward efficiently and with sensitivity.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and monitor a caseload of 9/11 VCF clients from intake through claim resolution.

Serve as the day-to-day contact for clients, responding to questions, providing updates, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Gather, review, and organize medical, employment, and other supporting documentation required for VCF claims.

Maintain accurate and detailed notes in the firm’s CRM/case management system.

Track deadlines and ensure timely submission of forms, medical records, and other required materials.

Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and intake staff to identify lost earnings claims, medical diagnoses, and other eligibility factors.

Assist clients in completing necessary forms and affidavits; coordinate with healthcare providers, employers, and agencies as needed.

Monitor claim status with the VCF and follow up on outstanding issues.

Provide compassionate support to clients, many of whom are experiencing serious illnesses or loss.

Qualifications:

Prior experience as a case manager, paralegal, or in client services (legal, medical, or insurance field preferred).

Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage a large caseload.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an empathetic and client-centered approach.

Proficiency in CRM/case management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
