Downhole Laser Probe Engineer

Operation, maintenance, and improvement of a miniaturized downhole laser induced breakdown spectroscopy probe system for field
deployment into the subsurface and other harsh environments. The device consists of a small passively Q-switched laser that is end pumped by a
fiber coupled diode pump system. The passively Q-switched laser produces a spark when focused into fluids and the atomic emission from the
spark is collected and analyzed. The laser and associated optics are sealed in a housing that can be placed into the subsurface or other harsh
environments to analyze fluid compositions. The system has been deployed twice for data collection and is continually being upgraded,
improved, and further miniaturized.
