
Music Publishing Internship

Qualifications:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working student who is well versed in music publishing, copyright law, and current music business practices. The student must also understand the present landscape of Latin Urban music. All student candidates must be currently enrolled in a college, university, or technical school. Candidates should display strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as ingenuity, and an eagerness to learn. Candidates must also possess excellent computer skills. Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferred, but not required. Students will be asked to intern at least 29 hours a week, however we will try our best to work around your schedule.
The Music Publishing intern will be tasked with the following:
- Conduct song catalog administration
- Song registration audits
- Prepare split sheets
- Submit copyright registrations
- Communicate with artist management teams and producers for song information
- Send out producer contracts and split sheets for signature
Requirements:
- Majoring or minoring in a music business degree program
- Knowledge of music publishing and copyright law
- Knowledge of Performance Rights Organizations
The intern may be responsible for special projects, database maintenance, conducting research, answering phones, writing reports, proofreading, and general administrative functions such as scanning, filing, and copying
This internship is for college credit and/or professional experience. Hours are flexible, but interns should expect to commit at least 24 hours per week.
